I am a foodie. I must confess… I love food, not enormous quantities of food, just really good tasting food. I love to experience new flavors and new restaurants. However with all the new and exciting flavors there are to experience in the world, there are a few tried and true favorites that I don’t think I will ever get tired of. So without adieu, here are my top 10 favourite foods ( yes I spell favourite with a u, I’m Canadian!).

1. Coffee
Coffee is a non-negotiable, absolute must have in my life. I love the taste, the smell, the colour.. I just love everything about coffee. When I was pregnant I had to take a break on it cause the caffeine was making my heart race as well as Gabriel’s’. I even tried decaf and it did the same thing. Well I’m glad to say Gabriel made it out into the world and 6 months postpartum Mom is back to enjoying her daily morning cup of Joe. Hmmmmm 🙂

2. Eggs
I eat 1 to 2 eggs just about every single day and I can eat eggs at any time of the day or night. They’re also really good for you too! Here’s a video on what eating eggs everyday does to your body.

3. Freshly baked bread
The smell… the taste… There’s nothing quite like freshly baked bread.

4. Maple Syrup
I can put this on just about anything… ok well not every thing but almost!

7. Peanut butter, chocolate cheesecake
I had a friend who had the ultimate perfect recipe for peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. Unfortunately she lost it and doesn’t remember how to make it. It still remains my favourite cheesecake.

8. Buss up shut Roti
Buss up shut Roti is a Trinidadian dish that is a twist on the usual roti. It’s soft, fluffy and a bit flaky and is eaten with your hands and melts in your mouth.

9. Sorrel Drink
Also known as Jamaican Tea in certain south and central American countries and Bisap in certain parts of north Africa, Sorrel is a drink made from the dried petals of sorrel plant or hibiscus plant flower.

10. Honey glazed donut
Okay my last but def not least is a simple but delicious honey glazed donut. I love donuts but a honey glazed donut, for me, combines the perfectly fried doughy flavour of a donut with just a hint of sweetness. With a cup of coffee it hits the spot every time.

I’m pretty sure that I will be thinking of all kinds of foods I forgot to add to this list. It’s really hard to narrow down my favourites to just 10. Maybe I will create another post that is more specific. But for now this is my top 10.

What are your favourites? Do you any of my favourites make it onto your top 10 list as well? Let me know by sharing in the comments below
