My father (who is a pastor) felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to call a prayer meeting this Sunday morning specifically for families to pray together and for each other. It was a wonderful moment spent in the presence of God talking to Him about my husband, my son, parents, sisters, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
But there’s something that struck me that my dad mentioned before we went into the prayer part of the service. (more…)
Today is Father’s Day and all around the country people are are celebrating their earthly fathers. While I certainly appreciate my dad for all he is and all he’s done I want to take a moment to speak about my Heavenly Father. Without him I wouldn’t even have the earthly father that I’ve been blessed with.
I woke up unusually early this morning, about 7. Usually I’m up closer to about 9. I lay in bed thinking about all what I have to do in the coming days and weeks leading up to my wedding. The list just seemed never ending and overwhelming. I was thinking about all the wedding related things and basic bills involved with living that I have to pay for with no idea really how I would get it all done or pay for it all in time. Weddings are expensive, particularly weddings with a 300+ guest list.
Finally after laying in bed for some time thinking and thinking, I got up and started getting ready for my day. A little thought came to me and said what do you want to do with your day?
